We investigate conversion and transport processes for different forms of energy. In doing so, we consider the efficiency of individual assemblies using high-resolution FEM or CFD calculations. We describe the interactions of many components in a complex system by (coupled) networks and calculate equilibrium positions or temporal courses in the network.
Our methods are used, for example, in the optimal use of process heat or its recovery. Together with partners, we develop novel concepts for the storage of renewable energies or evaluate environmentally friendly energy sources for industry and transport.
